Downtown in December

Snow may not be part of the South Florida holiday experience, but we still know how to celebrate the holiday season! Bring your entire family to the City’s Downtown in December on Saturday, December 12. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at the ArtWalk and will include cookies, hot cocoa and other fun winter surprises. The event is free but there will be food and refreshments available for purchase. There will be a giant snowglobe and ice skating rink, that will put you in the holiday spirit! The event will feature an outdoor showing of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and other short holiday films on a huge movie screen. The featured presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m., but come early to secure your spot and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

Be prepared for a chance of snow! Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome in the movie area. Please refrain from bringing pets or alcoholic beverages. For more details, please call 954-344-1111 or visit CoralSprings.org/events. The ArtWalk is located at 9405 NW 31st Court. Downtown Coral Springs is located at 9400 W. Sample Road, just west of University Drive. There will be ample free parking in the Downtown area. Still looking for more ways to get in the holiday spirit? Head out to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Sunday for The Nutcracker! This popular holiday spectacle follows the story of a young girl who receives a prince-shaped nutcracker for Christmas. At night when everyone else is sleeping, she creeps through the house to visit her gift, only to discover that he and the other toys have come alive and are battling an army of mice. Brought to life by gorgeous costumes and breathtaking choreography, this fanciful ballet will enchant viewers of all ages! You can catch the show at 2PM on December 13th.

However you celebrate the holiday season, the Great Florida Homes Team wishes you and your families a happy and healthy new year!
