The Coral Springs, Parkland Fire Department/Cleveland Clinic Mobile Integrated Healthcare Program (MIH) is a mouthful to say but is something that brings a very unique form of healthcare to Coral Springs. It is a system that gives the patient (in a non emergency situation) the option of being treated on their premises and then to be referred to the appropriate level of follow up care if needed.
The fire department has modified one of its existing rescue trucks into a mobile urgent-care of walk-in unit. It has the feel and look of an examination room found in a hospital or doctor’s office. The unit is staffed with one mid-level care provider, a nurse practitioner and one paramedic. The service is available by appointment only between 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and the caller will be asked for some basic demographic and insurance information before the appointment is confirmed.
Some examples of service that could be provided are as follows: Respiratory Infections, Ear, Nose and Throat Infections, Urinary Tract Infections, Asthma, Migraines, Minor Lacerations and Burns, Minor Soft Tissue Trauma (Sprains/Strains), Minor Skin Conditions (Rashes/Bites), Minor Eye Conditions, Minor Pelvic Discomfort, Sports and School Physicals, Vaccinations, and Community Public Education.
Please call 954-346-HELP if you are interested in scheduling an appointment. Times and services will be expanded as demand for services increase. Stay safe!
