Tis’ the Season!

Who says Florida doesn’t know how to do the winter holidays? The most beloved superheroes will be putting aside their differences and “Joining Forces for the Holidays” at the annual Holiday Parade on Wednesday, December 9. This year’s parade will be led by Darth Vader and members of the 501st Legion Everglades Squad in their full Star Wars regalia. This will surely get you in the mood to go see Star Wars Episode VII on December 18th!

The parade along Sample Road will feature decorated floats from Coral Springs Drive to City Hall. Each year, the parade draws thousands of spectators and more than 60 floats, bands and other entries. Awards will be given in both non-profit and business divisions. Rain date is Thursday, December 10. Sponsorships are now available and are a great way to promote your business to thousands of local consumers.

Before the holiday parade, individuals and families are invited to participate in the Coral Springs Holiday Mile running race along Sample Road at 6:15 p.m. The Holiday Mile is a great healthy start to your holiday season! The start location is at the northeast corner of Sample Road and Coral Springs Drive (in front of the CVS).  The event is timed with awards, which is open to runners of all ages and abilities. Participants must pre-register online for $15, and are asked to park at the Center for the Arts. Race day registration is $20.

Please note that Sample Road west of University Drive and east of NW 110th Avenue, and Coral Springs Drive north of NW 29th Street and south of NW 37th Street, will be closed on the night of the parade from 5 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m.
