Come see the Student Art & Literary Exhibits with Keynote Address by Andrew Holmes,Former MLK Scholarship Recipient. Tickets are $5 per person and are available at City Hall. Call 954-344-1063 for more information on the event.

 

Unveiling and Dedication of Coral Springs MLK Monument

Northwest Regional Library, 3151 N University Drive

Friday, January 15th, 2016 • 4:00 p.m. Sponsor Reception • 6:00 p.m.

The Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is very proud to announce that we are erecting a Monument to demonstrate our commitment to equality and peace after having completed 25 years of celebrating the legacy of Dr. King in our community.

The impressive three-dimensional monument, designed by resident and Sculptor/Artist, Dari, will be permanently installed at the Northwest Regional Library on University Drive in Coral Springs, Florida. This prominent location will attract the much-deserved attention, recognition and respect Dr. King merits, as many families with children visit the Library daily. Leadership/Diversity Day

Monday, January 18, 2016 • 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

On Monday, January 18– the King Holiday – the Committee hosts a Diversity & Leadership Workshop for high school and middle school students. The event, which will be held at the Coral Springs Charter School Gym, begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. This is a “Day On, Not a Day Off” and offers students to learn what Dr. King stood for by participating in interactive activities and listening to a motivational speaker. Students interested in attending should sign up at their respective schools.
