A day at the beach is the highlight of summer. The shore is technically a big sandbox with shells and the waves are much more enjoyable than any dull pool. If you’re in Florida for the summer months, don’t forget to stock up your cooler, pack your towels and bring your sunscreen because days at the beach is what South Florida is all about!

Open seven days a week, this is the ideal spot for a picnic. The picnic area is equipped with grills, tables and restrooms but these are available on a first come, first-served basis. Fishing in the Intracoastal Waterway is one of the favourite pastimes of many park visitors as well as swimming. And finally, the nature trails are some of the most interesting in this part of the state!

With some of the best beaches in the United States, Delray Beach attracts beachgoers from near and far to its stunning coastline. The beach is perfect for playing beach games such as volleyball and football. For those who don’t want to get wet, they can visit the unique galleries or boutiques on Atlantic Avenue by day or enjoy dining and entertainment at night. The Luna Rosa Café is one of the most sought after sidewalk cafes and Boston’s on the Beach is popular for its positive atmosphere of good food, fun and live music.

A popular attraction, the black and white tower is a must-see as well as the Barefoot Mailman statue which pays tribute to the 19th century mail men who walk shoeless along the shoreline doing their duty of delivering mail to the coastal neighborhoods.
