The City of Coral Springs is one of the premiere communities now in the state of Florida.  Popularly known as the “City in the Country”, this community boasts for its lavish parks, superb educational opportunities, well-organized athletic programs and striking neighborhood.   But little have it known that before it reached its current status, five short decades have passed to convert these once acres and acres of marshy wilderness land into now a well-developed premiere city in South Florida.  Incorporated in the State of Florida on July 10, 1963, Coral Springs has experienced 50 years of growth and accomplishments after a lot of hard times and challenges.

Now, it will celebrate its 50 years of continued history with grand festivities to commemorate its great history on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Center for the Arts.  The Center for the Arts is located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive.

The 50th Anniversary State of the City Celebration is an event to show its appreciation to the City volunteers and committee members for all they do for the community.  It will also highlight the accomplishments and undertakings of the City over the past year.  And now, as part of its celebration, the City of Coral Springs is inviting all its residents to join and take part in this fun-filled evening.

As an ultimate tribute to The Beach Boys, Good Vibrations will perform their songs to reminisce the old times and the people are invited to sing along to their favorite tunes from the 1960’s – the period in which Coral Springs was first instituted.  The show will start at 7 p.m. sharp and is free for everyone. The dispersal of tickets is available at the City Hall and City Hall at the Mall starting January 2, 2013 on a first-come, first-served basis.  Only two tickets will be given for every household and the ticket-holder must be 15 years old or older.
